Hi everyone! I just have a quick question regarding the keyboard layout of the new MBP 13" and the original unibody MB 13", does anyone know if there is anything structurally different? Did Apple change the shape/design of the body of the laptop between the two refreshes?

I'm asking because I recently got a Moshi ClearGaurd for my keyboard and it's note quite a perfect fit. It fits well enough but kind of scrunches up when I use the outer keys (the arrows, etc). I don't know if this is because of the way it's designed or if it's the laptop. I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Moshi-ClearGuard-Macbook-Keyboard-Protector/dp/B001QKI2DA

I have the new MBP 13". Thanks!

Nope the keyboard design did not change. The only design changes they had were related to the ports, and the battery. Other than that everythign else is the same.

The MBP lost one of the best design details of the earlier unibodies - the battery cover release latch. Apart from that, what MKang said.

The battery release latch, or the ability to field swap the battery? I only change the Ram and HD maybe twice in the notebook's lifetime. The longer battery life made up for being able to swap batteries. In my situation anyways. The easily removable cover wasn't much of a big deal to me.

The sub-6-hour battery life is hardly making up for me over having a removable battery, but no, what I meant is as a design feature. The battery release latch is one of those 'that's nice' Apple design highlights in my book - and one of the few such highlights not screwed up (in my experience at least) by the as-usual inadequate quality control, poor engineering for 'pro' utility, etc of the Apple notebooks.

The removable battery had its issue to. There were quite a few people including my self who noticed slightly loose battery covers that were a result of an apple manufacturing defect. So the battery cover would not be flush and level with the base but be a few mm lifted and sometimes make a rattling noise
