Got my shiny new 2.6 MBP-17" this week. Only thing I cannot get to work is the wireless adapter under Windows (bootcamp). It shows up but I'm having driver issues. I've tried four or five different ones, starting with the one that came on the Apple DVD (duh). None of them get rid of the yellow exclamation mark though.

Anyone know if this is something Apple supports (since it is a Windows thing)? I usually fix my problems without calling the helpless desk, but I'll call Apple if you think it's my best bet.

Apple just updated the bootcamp drivers yesterday....you may want to try those...if that doesn't work i would call apple...with leopard it is officially supported so they should be prepared to help you.

With Leopard what is officially supported? I called about a Windows issue I was having with my external display not detecting at the right resolution over DVI running Boot Camp and the Apple guy said they didn't provide any support for Windows.

boot camp is officially supported, as in, no longer in beta and a feature of leopard. I thought maybe they would help out with windows driver issues...apparently I was wrong.

You could try starting over...remove boot camp partition...repartition and install windows again...i've found this solves a lot of computer problems with windows.... you could use winclone to back up your boot camp partition in case that didn't help it would be pretty easy to get it back to where it was.

Just came back to say that I found the bootcamp update the same day I posted this. IT FIXED EVERYTHING. Seems these newest (pernyn?) macbook pros had a software issue that Apple identified and fixed...props to them and thanks to you guys.

I'm still curious about the support thing in general though. I mean, if Windows is officially a supported OS for the hardware (which it must be if Apple writes drivers for Windows in the first place) then it seems it would extend to driver support. I can see them declining a pure Windows support call that did not also involve Apple hardware. Then again I usually would not call M$ for support on Dell/HP/Lenovo/Asus hardware either :)

they dont support the OS, just the feature to "install" the OS.

    theyll never support windows.

Right, but do they support the drivers they write for Windows? That's the actual question. it doesn't matter for this piece of hardware for me anymore, they fixed it in a release that came out about the same time I posted here.

why are you so sure?? have you called apple care and asked?? and i would assume installing their drivers would be a part of installing the OS, no?
