Hey, im going to poland/ london this summer. Now i bought my C2D MBP about 3 months ago..but now that the new MB's are out i think the macbook would suit my needs for school a little bit more. I checked on the Polish apple site and found that over there the MBP runs at around $3000(cdn)..so do u think i could sell mine for $2300(cdn)..I dont wanna make money off it or anything i just want to get a more portable laptop since now im going to use an exteral monitor anyway.

    thanks

Yeah it costs alot more over here. But not sure how much you can sell it for. There are 2 main reasons why it costs alot in europe.
    1. It mostly comes with 2 years warrenty (thats the law in most EU countries)
    2. High VAT (sales tax)

The person buying off you will lose the warrenty and will have a non polish keyboard. Shouldnt be to big of a problem if your MBP is in good shape. I think you can sell it for a higher price in europe but might take time since you need to find someone who wants to buy.

You can use craigslist to post it in cities close to where you are going to be ... in Europe!

Of course, not to foger posting it here in the Buy / Sell forums, too.

Uhm, while European consumer law can help if you have a hardware defect which was present at purchase, it by no means gives you a warranty beyond Apples one-year warranty (which is the same worldwide). Read the law ;) I have.

Long story short, if you want coverage beyond the first year, buy the Applecare Protection Plan instead of relying on consumer law being able to bail you out - because it is in no way, shape or form a full warranty the way Apples one-year limited warranty is.

As for point #2, that is really the main reason for the higher prices in Europe.
