After having owned this for 2 months, I still find myself missing keystrokes here and there, maybe every 2-3 sentences, maybe every 2-3 paragraphs. If I test it out and hit a key lightly, I can make keys go down without having the MBP register it. I can get over the problem by consciously hitting each key a little bit harder, but it irks me nonetheless. I might get more used to it, I guess.

Any experiences with this kind of issue?

Same here. When I'm typing a paper I'll miss 1-2 keystrokes every couple paragraphs. It's a bit annoying, but other than that I really like the MBP keyboard.

I miss the first character a lot.

Otherwise I got used to it.

It was a lot harder when I also had a PC laptop. Switching between the two sucked.

I kinda cannot tell if i like it or hate it.

I do like the way it feels, but i miss keystrokes too. So i guess it's a wash.

It happened to me a lot in the beginning; now, almost 4 months later, I find it very comfortable and miss very few strokes. It's just a matter of habit I guess...
I like my MBP keyboard a lot more than my wife's 1520 one.

The MBP is more similar to most notebook keyboards...and generally I'm okay with generic notebook keyboards.

I really love my MacBook keyboard though. I rarely make mistakes with it.

I find it odd to keep seeing the complaint here. I honestly haven't had a single problem as far as missing characters when I type on my MBP. Same for my wife's MBP as well.

It really depends on the user. Some are better with notebook keyboards, some are better with external keyboards. And the MBP's keyboard layout and design is similar to most notebooks out there, so its probably the users who are better with external keyboards.

I just hate the lack of illumination on my Macbook keyboard.

I think I see what you mean. While this MBP is my first Mac, this is probably the 6th different notebook I've had since I've been using notebooks (around 2000). So maybe I'm just used to both good and bad notebook keyboards. Personally, I love the MBP's keyboard.

Yes, that would be very nice. Not that I type in pitch dark that often :D. And the screen is pretty bright anyways.

It's funny. I thought I was the only person who noticed the MBP keyboard issue. It's true - you can push it down gently and not have it register the key. I use the new Bluetooth Mac external keyboard, and love it. It's similar (the same as) the Macbook keyboard.

Funny... I love the MBP keyboard and find it utterly luxuriant to type on. One of my worries about if they update the form factor of the MBP is that it might lose it's wonderfully sprung keyboard...

I also have the new bluetooth keyboard and I like it, but the way that the MBP one yields to your fingers is a wonderful tactile experience for me!
