Depends on how much you use it and if you do proper battery calibration.

I'm not sure of the number of recharges but generally for li-ion its 500-1,000 charges. Anyone correct me if Im wrong.

Speaking of batteries, when I read the warranty, it said it does not cover replacement of batteries except for ipods.

I couldn't see them not covering it (if you had the extended warranty for past the 1st year when the battery would likely die) and not replacing it. Anyone had their battery replaced after 1 year of ownership?

I doubt the battery becomes useless under a year (here indicating that the MacBook Pro have not been on the market for a year yet).

That would be something interesting to find out, if the extended APP covers a battery replacement.

Yeah, but the extended warranty SHOULD cover a battery. I mean... kinda part of why I'm getting it.

Though on another note, I'm please with my 3.5 hours battery life with brightness all the way up, blue tooth on, and wireless on. Heh, so much better than my 50 min on my sager!

whoops, sorry, it wasn't on full brightness. around 50% or so, but hey, thats still pretty nice.
