So I see everyone here's claiming the next MBP to have a LED display. Does anyone have solid proof of this? Links to actual announcements would help immensely. Guys, I really need to know cause I'm looking to buy my first Mac real soon.

    Thanks!

LED backlighting on MBPs is only a rumour at this stage... like most things relating to Apple.

Should've figured. You know when the next-generation of MBPs would be released by any chance? Might as well get the laptop now if it's like half a year away.

Santa Rosa should be out in a month or so. Apple should adopt it and have units out with in 2 months after it's initial market release, similar to C2D. Leopard will be out in the next 2 months hopefully.

More notebook manufacturers are starting to adopt LED technology into notebook LCD's because of the many benefits. Apple wont be far behind. I wouldn't be surprised if it was adopted into the new santa rosa mbp's.

There was one rumor a while back. Since then I have not heard much about it, so in short your guess is as good as mine. I would expect new MBP when Leopard is released which will almost definitely be WWDC in June.
