    Hello all I'm still shopping for a laptop so I need to know information regarding bootcamp.

    Now I'm a gamer so people tell me i'll need bootcamp to run games at higher fps. I was wondering if u guys can show me your results on

    3dmark 05/06 w/ bootcamp and w/out
    Also the ati x1600 is undercloaked so if some OC it please mention it in your results :) thx

    You won't game in Windows outside Bootcamp on Apple hardware. This is because virtualization software like Parallels doesn't have 3d support. It's not a matter of bad performance, it's a matter of no performance.

    You'll probably have difficulty overclocking the card a lot too, since there's limited heat dissipation.

    You can definitely overclock it but it will not be good for the machine. It's going to get pretty hot if you do that and consume more power.

    what i'll do is i'll pull out the battery and set the laptop on an Antec coolingpad so the battery won't get too hot. I've playing games at 450 both GPU and memory without problem, with much better performance than the stock configuration.

    In the Core2Duo, the underclock is not very severe. You should expect results to other x1600 equipped machines. It is a good mid range card.

    In 3dMark05, the 2.16 scores 3870 and the 2.33 scores 3976. Clocked at 500/575 the 2.16 can get 4449. Here is a page to look over:
