I have an issue with my MBP. When i remove external power it will randomly turn off after 80-90% drain on the battery. I don't know if its a battery issue or another hardware issue. The health of my battery is at 69% and i always have my computer connected to external power and this happens the seldom times i'm not plugged in. If anyone can give me any insight as to what is going on with my computer that would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a dying battery. There a lots of aftermarket battery's at reasonable prices, perhaps a last minute Xmas gift to yourself is in order.

Ha Yeah. I do have apple care which should cover the battery? It's just a matter of scheduling an appointment and taking it in

If you have 69% health, and haven't calibrated the battery anytime recently, what you're quite likely experiencing is a disconnect between what the system thinks is the battery charge remaining and what is actually there on a moderately used battery..... i.e. the MBP thinks there is 10-20% left when the battery is, in fact, fully drained and forcing the shutdown. I'm getting exactly this phenomenon on my W3's 3yo battery, but I'm too lazy to actually calibrate the thing so I just make sure it gets plugged in whenever it gets to 20% or so...

As for AppleCare, battery warranty is only for 12 months from purchase (so if you're outside that timeframe, nothing will be done) and batteries are supposed to wear down with use, so the response may be that you're experiencing normal wear of a component. But, if you're inside 12 months it can't hurt to ask.
