how scratch resistant is the screen on a 17" macbook pro (matte)?

i've been hearing that you need to use special screen/glasses cloth, but the thing is, most people i see use to touch their laptop's screen. so isn't your finger/nail, much much rougher and dangerous to your screen.. than a regular (wet) cotton cloth?

btw, i just use warm water, with wet cotton cloth to clean my screen or use it with special glasses cloth.

I'm kinda confused about what you were saying in the middle.

But yes, the cloth that you use to clean glasses is fine (as it is most likely microfiber). You really shouldn't use anything else to clean your screen because LCDs are in general fairly delicate. Touching your LCD with your hands and especially your nails isn't terrible, but definitely is not good for it.

from my experience; the matte screen is pretty tough no? i use normal cotton cloth with my old lcd screen and no damage is visible... not sure about the glossy macbook screen tough... it does shows dust more compared to my matte mbp screen..
