I've noticed that the mic (located inside the left speaker) has very low volume. When I try to use it to speak with someone, the person on the other side barely hears it. Is this just my mic... or is there a way to make it louder? (btw this was in Windows, I haven't tried it in OS X)

Well I tried it in GarageBand and it worked ok. Nothing impressive but I could hear myself fine... is the windows driver just... sub par?

HRm.. never used it much except for in Ventrillo, and it worked fine then. No one had problems with low volume.

This was in OS X not iwndows.

Yeah I'm speaking pretty low in GarageBand with the mic volume at about 75% and I can hear myself fine with my speaker volume low... the problem is when I tried to speak with someone in windows through MSN they kept complaining that I was speaking so low, but I had my mic volume maxed in MSN. So all I can think of is either the drivers for the mic in Vista are horrible, or there was a problem on their end. I think it's the driver since I plugged in my USB mic and they heard me fine. Also they have no trouble through my brothers inspiron.
