I have a C2D Macbook Pro that was purchased in January of 07. According to the system profiler, it can burn and read DVD+R DL discs. It does in fact burn the discs just fine, and it will even verify them immediately after burning them. However, if I eject the disc and reinsert it, it will spin up, spin down, and eject the disc every time. Other computers (including other MBP's) can read the discs without a problem.

I have tried both Toast and the disc utility to burn the discs, and I have tried both Verbatim and Memorex discs.

Is anyone familiar with this issue? I've searched google and the forums but can't find anything relevant. I have applecare, do you think that Apple will or can do anything for me? I've had good experiences with them in the past, but the problem is a little unorthodox.

I had an issue with dual layer discs, and when I went in and told them what it was doing they pretty much said ok, and ordered in a new drive for me.

So yea, it should be pretty easy to get a new one.
