I have a very lightly used battery in my macbook pro..

According to Istat it has 45 cycles, but the battery health is showing 65%.

I was wondering what could case this, i generally use my computer for desktop replaement, and i run them hard.

Any ideas?? Would Apple replace the battery under apple care??

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah. And while batterywear is common, that's somewhat extreme. Still, it happens and it's either the battery or the charging chip in the laptop.

I am not too worried, since i have bought an extra battery, but that is no reason to put up with a bad battery.

I had close to 300 cycles on my first battery (which ironically was defective and was replaced with this one) and it still had like 92 % or so battery health.

Hopefully caliberating will help (in process now) i am using parallels so it should die quickly.

    Thanks

Not really. That's where it should be. And after you calibrated it jumped back up.

Thats really awesome, a little annoying, but SO GLAD i know now... hell when you pay this much for a laptop, even a tiny nick or scratch bugs you (and i have two of these, so you could image how difficult it is for me to travel)

Lol! No, its what happens; after a while the battery starts reading the health wrong, and calibrating it helps fix that.

WTF.... it was working perfectly until about 10 mins ago, it just had 39% and then all of a sudden a warning that i am on reserve power came on, and the health dropped back down to 67% ...

I hope this is a part of the process, otherwise i am just being anal, and pretty soon you guys will get annoyed with me.

I think you should complete the entire calibration process before jumping to conclusions.
