    Hi,

I need help on this decision. I am a student.

How are those two machines compare in terms of heat, performance and battery life?

I do want to put an SSD in it and keep the HDD if possible. I also want to use Microsoft with it because I love gaming.

I have a Macbook 2007 (white) since a month and I do not know if I really like the Mac Os. Some stuff I think is more intuitive with Windows but if I put both on it I can live with it.

What are the disadvantages of running Windows on Mac besides the lower batterylife and no multi gestures?

    Thanks for your help!

    1. You can put SSD instead of dvd in both 15 and 17. (mod costs 30usd on ebay)
    2. Battery life is somewhat the same, same goes for performance except for naturally 17 has bigger screen so it may slow some games down.
    3. Windows7 will work without any problems except for reduced battery life (u ll get 3 hours out of it no probs though)

All in all its up to you. 17 wont fit into most bags, 15 will. 17 is also heavier and cost more. I d say get 17 if you change houses a lot and get 15 if you want to carry it around while plugging to external monitor at home. Which i believe is the way to do it.

    1080p vs mobility.

MBP 15s are the size of most 14 inch PCs. 17s are the size of most 15.6 inch PCs.

Going from my 15.6 Dell to my 17" MacBook Pro I am really, really glad I went with the larger Mac. It seriously weighs less than my Dell, is much thinner, and is overrall more svelte.

But then again, I am someone who thinks people who buy laptops with screens smaller than 15" are insane...
