Thanks to this forum I'm a proud new owner of a MBP 13-inch.

I need your suggestions and advice on a couple of matters.

    (1) A good skin/sleeve/cover/case to protect it on the go. Ideally I'd like a very lightweight and elegant skin or shell that's on all the time to protect the exterior from wear and tear, without trapping too much heat.

    (2) I need a sleek padded case to carry the unit and typical accessories (charger, adapters, mouse) and other small items.

    (3) I'm looking for a convenient laptop stand for my desk to set the MBP alongside an external monitor.

    Thanks in advance!

Congrats. I'd wholeheartedly recommend a Tucano case, the Second Skin series in particular; I've owned a few (they make all sorts, quite a few are specifically designed for MBPs) and they're awesome, but a little pricey.

I use the M-stand ( http://www.raindesigninc.com/mstand.html) and like it very much. Gets things up at eye level, solid build, etc. I'm sure there are other stands out there, this is just the one that I happen to use.
BTW, congrats on the new Mac and welcome.

By the way, if you end up going the mstand route, you might have to consider an external keyboard/mouse. Apple is supposedly updating their wireless keyboard/mouse offerings today. It seems that the apple online store (US) is currently down, so in a matter of minutes/hours we could be seeing updates.

Invisible Shield/Best Skin Ever is hands down the best layer of protection you can give your MacBook from scuffs and scratches.
