    Hi,

On MBP 13 inch there is only one Headphone output. Normally on other laptops have a microphone input to record audio.

Is the Microphone input possible in MBP 13, since it does not have a Mic In port?

I need to record lectures in my online classroom and would need to put in a Aux In cable from the online classroom PC to my laptop. Any ideas how that is possible using MBP 13?

    Thanks in advance.

The audio-out port doubles as an audio-in port (it does have a mic in port).

Its a combined Mic and headphone jack with 4 sections, not 3 that the traditional headphone jack has. So you should be able to just stick in a mic there.

    thanks guys for responding.

Just so that I understand this right, i can line in as well as Line out, both at the same time using the same port?

Umm...no, you can't do both at the same time obviously. It's a single port and you can select in the system preferences whether you want it to be line-out or line-in. To my knowlegde I haven't seen any sort of adapter that will allow you to split it to line-out and line-in simultaneously.

There is a "built-in" mic just above the Escape key that's primarily for the iSight camera but you can use it to record ambient sounds in the room.
