    Hi guys,
as you can see I`m new here. This site is very good site.
I got my macbook pro, and this is my FIRST mac
    so I need your help.
My mac seems to be very hot when I put in on my knees and my fans seems to be exhausted,
so is this overheating? Should I be worried? What should I do?
    Thanx
    D.

I use mac fan control program below it automatically ajusts the fan speeds , A lot of mac users use SMC fan control but you have to adjust the fan speed yourself.

it's not overheating but it's a little hot for a new mac. have you installed any new apps recently? I dont think you are torrenting. Are you going on sites which use lots of flash videos like you tube? these tend ti increase cpu load.

You need to adjust the settings in the fan control in system preferences , do your fans sound louder , has the speed changed in iStat.

I have mine set to 2000rpm 50c and 70c going downwards, but i have a 17" so they might be set differently on your 13"

Can you try checking out for any background programs which are not supposed to be running? Try with activity monitor.

change the "my processes" to "all processes" ,then click on the top of the CPU column to bring the highest CPU processes to the top.

arrange by CPU usage. Anyway, for 1/2 of CPU usage it is totally normal temp! set the fans higher if you want it to be cooler. Remember, Intel C2D CPU are operational till 105C and they will shut down automatically once started overheating!

Um ok. And evrything else is ok?
Coz I was kind of scared when I saw my fans are around 3000 rpm and CPU 60 degrees C. But that is ok I think...

If you have the fan control software , it will adjust the fan speed automatically as the cpu temp rises , you do not want a fast fan speed all the times as it will cause more of a dust build-up in your mac.

all your temps seem normal... using Fan Control, or smcfancontrol is just something you can do if you want, your machine is not running very hot. Remember that being a metal case, the computer is actually using parts of the case to help keep cool, kind of like a big heatsink. Just because it feels warm doesn't mean its a problem, as the CPU can operate over the boiling point... 62ΒΊ isn't bad at all.

i try to keep best temp/noise combo-if I am playing games, I set to 6k,bc I put headphones and don't hear the noise! it's up to you-if you are not doing anything intensive, set the speed you are most comfortable with!
