What kind of case are you looking for? A slip case or something that snaps onto the MBP itself? I have both right now mainly because the snap cases stop from scratches while you are using it and the slip cases protect it more during transportation.

I currently have a Speck translucent green case on my 13" MBP (I am not a fan of the color but it was the least expensive option on Amazon) that protects it quite nicely and then an Incase sleeve. It isn't their traditional, dinky neoprene sleeve but rather the upgraded one that has a soft interior faux fur liner. I would link you to it but I can't find it on Best Buy's website.

I had a black Speck case on my MBP 13 & 17. I really liked the cases and they look cool. At least the black does, makes it look like a blackbook.

I have this shell on my 15" MBP. It fits well, but the plastic seems on the cheap side, at least when compared to a Speck case. One thing I do like about it is the fact that it has little pop-up legs on the back, so the notebook can be propped slightly, making it more comfortable to type on if I'm at a desk.

You've received some good recommendations, but I will give you a case to avoid. Do not buy the Incipio Feather. That was what I had prior to the model I linked to above. While it feels high quality, it doesn't fit the system especially well, particularly around the bottom portion. That's not its biggest problem. The fatal flaw is that the feet are not textured or rubberized. When I was out of town on business this past week, it was almost impossible to work at my hotel and in the airport lounge because the system would slide all over the desk.

I have been a fan of Speck cases for a few years now, and have one currently on both my 13" MBP, and my 13" MBA. The case for the Pro is solid, and does add some weight to it. I've banged it around a couple of times on accident, and the laptop is no worse for wear. The case for the Air leaves something to desire. It looks great, but never really fit quite well on the bottom casing. And just this week, one of the tabs on the back corner broke. This was after only 3 monhts of use. I will probably go with a sleeve next for my Air.

I was just looking at the hard cases for the Air on Speck's site, and they've got a ton of reviews talking about premature breaking. I'd skip this generation of those cases; I don't think the plastic is up to it.

Speck (satin red) on the wife's MBP13/2010, Speck (satin blue) on my MBP15/2011 model. Both fit perfect, add very little additional bulk/weight, they look great (ports, lights, etc., all visible, accessible).

Around $32.xx or so from Amazon (Prime available too).

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about those negative reviews. I can go online and find a ton of negative reviews for Macs, Intel processors, Android devices, etc. People are going to voice their negative opinions online more than others without issues. I have had my Speck snap-on case for almost a year now (it will be a year in March) and it is still fine. There are some scratches on it here and there but they are very minor and don't show that much. The only thing I don't like about my case is the obnoxious green color but, as I said, it was the least expensive option on Amazon's site. They were selling it for $25 one day instead of the typical $35-$40. If I could, I would buy the black satin Speck case.

Haha, I know first hand that people with bad experiences are far more likely to post a review than someone who had an okay or good experience. But my issue with those is that they all reference the same issue, over and over and over.

Still, they're cheap enough that it might not really matter.

Yeah, I bought another one to replace mine that cracked. It was on sale again at Amazon for about $27. If I get no more than 3 months out of this one, then I'll look for something else. All in all I like the Speck case, I just think it might be a little too thin or flimsy in spots for the Air.
