hi, i have this 17" SantaRosa MBP, that i just bought few months ago.. i did this apple hardware test... and it seems when both the CPU fan and the GPU fan spools up... it makes this kinda bassy drowning noise... is this normal?

Any chance you can record the sound and post it? It may be hard to say for sure unless I can hear it.

i dont think it can be recorded... as the thing is bassy sub sonic kinda noise... i dont have a high quality mic that is has enough resolution/sensitivity that can record this noise. well... if you run hardware test and wait till the fan spins up 100% and a kind of bassy drowning noise can be heard.

for some reason... even when i'm doing nothing at the start of the language selection of apple hardware test. the fan starts ramping up within a minute or two... is this normal?
