    The current release of ExpressCard version of X-Fi requires an ExpressCard/54 slot (MBP has an ExpressCard/34 slot).

    USB-audio devices should work out of the box putting out stereo audio requiring not extra software. Only extra processing features (Crystalizer, etc.) will require proper software installed for it to function.

    i use xmod for MBP, no driver needed.

    hi nirvana; i use Xmod too! and satified with it so far :) except for its steep AU$200 (US$193) pricetag :(
