I am in a dilemma whether to go for MBP (2.2 Ghz) or Dell XPS M1530.
M1530 is closer to my budget but want to know if it is really worthwhile spending the extra $600 on a MBP.

Saw lot of positive feedback on MBP....although there were significant issues reported in early 2006, looks like it has been stabilized now.

I have not seen many negative comments on M1530. Is it because it is still very new in the field?

Looking for guidance from the experts in this forum.

    Thanks.

macbook pros have some features such as keyboard backlighting, that the dell lacks. It is also thinner but weighs about the same as the dell. When it comes down to it, is os x worth that much to you? is iLife worth the extra? Macs are fast and generally trouble free with better build quality than a dell.

However, since the 1530 is A LOT cheaper than the pro, for me, I would go for the Dell. The choice is yours.

Get the Macbook Pro if you can afford it. After using windows my whole life I've always wanted to try mac OS x. I never have bought one, but they feel sooo sturdy and solidly built! I almost regret buying my laptop (windows) and wish I had bought a macbook pro!
