ok...I have finally decided that I want a Mac laptop....but I can't decide which one would be better ...MB or MBP? What is the main difference between the two? I will be using my laptop mainly for usual net browsing, presentation, downloading songs and watching movies....\
the price difference btwn them is huge and just wondering if it's really worth spending that much

You might want to check out the Choosing a Mac section of the Mac Switcher's Guide :). It'll answer a lot of the questions you have.

Both do those tasks fine, of course the MBP has its advantages and features over the MacBook.

You Mac people have it so easy... there's only 2 laptops to choose from... ok, 3 I guess, since there's the MBP 15" and 17", and the Macbook. And y'all still can't decide. ;)

EDIT: Duh, I forgot, there's a new choice as of today, the Macbook Air. You better update that FAQ, Sam. ;)

I know, I'll need some time to compile it, though! School gets into the way of everything :p.

Well, here's the short version: if you don't care about performance much but have lots of cash that you need to unload really fast, choose the Macbook Air. ;)

From the tasks you mentioned, I think MB will suit you just fine. Are you interested in any graphics, audio, video editing gaming etc? Any of those, your best will be mbp.

In some ways I like the MacBook better than the Pro. I found the keyboard on the Pro to be not very good, but I type on a ThinkPad so my standards may be high. I think is either is fine performance wise for your needs.
