    Hey everybody,

I`m in the process of taking a dive in the mac world :D (waiting for leopard to be released and maybe a upgrade to the macbook  ) but i recently "hit a wall".
I wanted to try out iTunes and organize my music collection on the pc(fillout tags, get covers, do some cleaning) so when i get my mac i will be ready to go, but in order to download the covers one must register in iTunes Store and there i found out my country is not listed  , I tried fillig out an application in Germany (because i used my credit card there for some online shopping and it worked) but it recognizes that my card is from another country.
This is something that got me thinking  if i buy a mac in my country (we have an apple online store and some premium resellers) how many things i won`t be able to do since the services are not available. I also was looking at the new ipods but if i cannot use iTunes......
Does anybody know how i can regiter in Itunes Store!
I now even have an stupid Paypal account  which i do not intend on using (tried to register on the US page of iTunes trough paypal).

    10x

Wow...if you don't mind revealing...what country are you in?

Anyways, everything on the Mac will basically work, as long as Apple recognizes the country and there's premium resellers there, and they will most likely also be Apple Authorized Service Providers; meaning if anything goes wrong and your Mac needs repair or replacement, those reseller stores will be able to do it for you.

There's Songbird...and really that's it. The number of music players on the OSX is quite scarce.

You could use any number of generic media players, such as realplayer, vlc, etc. to play music too, but they're not really that great for that purpose.

I just use iTunes :p. It works much better on the Mac than the PC version.

Alternatively, you can install X11 and the Linux layer for Mac (I forget what it's called... Google it), and you can feasibly run any music player for Linux on OS X. There are quite a few there that people like, including Banshee, AmaroK, and Rythmbox (which is what I use). They also allow you to sync with an iPod if you download the correct plugin.
