Depends on what you need to do.

Software requirements? Do you need the power of a PC or ease of use of Mac? Do you want to run both OS's, have a budget, etc.

alot of major accounting software is wndows only and defeats the MBP's advantages if you are in windows mostly

PC. The majority of businesses use PCs so you might as well use the common tools of the trade instead of bucking the trend. And since you would have to bootcamp or VM a windows environment for most of what you need, as already stated, you will be losing the advantages of the Mac.

And if you go into finance, you definitely need a PC since much of the software, especially of the proprietary variety, is Windows only.

All said, find out what the prospective schools recommend. You may end up just using Excel and Word. Something which exists for both Mac and PC.

which is strangly WHY buinesses use windows, security flaws are fixed faster and the network security and software. sorry but OSX and Safari combo keep turning up as the least secure on a network 4 years at a row at Can-sec west ( look up Charlie Miller and others ). Physical security leaves alot to be desired as well as there is no hardware level encryption for drives and data like other business class noteboks with one or multiple security chips embedded into the hardware.

Many corperate and Govt. IT departments get very grumpy at Apples locked in security setups in OSX and iOS

I would recommend getting in contact with the school. They would be the ones that could best tell you what you will need in terms of a machine. I know as stated here that the software for these programs only run on windows but perhaps they will not require you to put that on your machine.

I know in my college they just had laptops in the room you would use, so no need for requirements on ours.

for college its safe to say that the campus uses Windows. I know at Penn State the College of education requires the students to have a Mac, they tell the students before they come so if they do get a computer for graduation they can get a mac. Unless they school tells you to get a mac, get a windows machine.
