    MAC : Battlefield 2142 demo where from?

    I read on a number of sites that their is a mac version , but every-time i click on a link it says PC and i dont want to download 1.2gb if it`s for the PC

    Am i missing something :confused:

    Are you sure that those sites aren't referring to the Mac version of the full game( apple's game page doesn't mention a native Mac demo) or maybe you have to run it in Bootcamp...

    Well i will just have to buy the full games on ebay, I wish i could get battlefield 2 on the mac as well.

    Just be warned, I've read a lot of reviews on the mac version of the game, and most say that the performance is quite sluggish compared to the windows version.

    Thanks for the head`s up, I will just run the PC demo though bootcamp as i only play online anyway.

    the pc version should be waaay better as windows uses open gl and it better than apple's current 3d implementation.

    first off, the windows version uses directx, not open GL.

    second, you would be surprised. the mac version has a little bit of overhead because it translates all the directx calls to openGL on the fly, but it is actually comparable in performance. apple's openGL isn't leagues behind windows openGL or anything.

    You can go find benchmarks of openGL games available on both platforms like Doom 3 and Quake 4 to verify this.
