Fisrt off I'm out in my backyard on WiFi, my battery is charged i'm just watching some You Tube stuff and all of a sudden this loud ascending beeping starts coming from the MacBook. What on Earth is this? it's really annoying and I have to take this thing to school next week and the last thing I need is loud beeping in the middle of a lecture. Even when I pressed mute it still beeped. How do I turn off system sounds? This was definitely coming from the pc speaker not the notebook speakers. Thanks guys!

BTW I know there are multiple spelling errors, I typed this in a hurry, sorry.

Did a cellphone ring nearby? Sometimes when a cellphone is about to ring a few beeps are heard from speakers. This happens very often and is absolutely normal.

Anyways, I think that's what most likely happened. I don't understand how the sound still came when you muted it, unless it was the cellphone thing, which happens in the speakers and not the MacBook.

He meant a speaker on the motherboard, not the laptop speakers. Laptops sometimes have a piezo buzzer type thing that can beep error codes or something.

I have no clue what it was but my first stop would be the macbook support site at apple.com.

Thanks guys, ya I'm gonna maybe just call Apple, I don't think it was cell phone interference, I've heard that before on my Desktop speakers and it wasn't half as apparent as the sound coming from the MacBook. I'll let you guys know what I find out from Apple, if I find out anything. Thanks again!

    Ahhh..I didn't know PC = MOBO.

Well, if it came from your MOBO, you should definitely get that checked out.
