hey guys, well last night i lost my iPhone. I realized it when i came home and was getting ready to sync iCal. And i could not find the thing. I called everywhere i went, i don't know if it got stolen, or slipped out my pocket. Anyways, i feel so screwed now because all my contacts where on it, all my data, bank info credit card, statements...but luckily it was updated and i had the password protect erase, when you enter the wrong code more than 10 times. so my data isn't compromised and i gratefull ;)

Just sucks to loose so much investment, and now i'm stuck with a samsung t229 lol
    :p

Hopefully, after you checked your usuall places and didn't find it, you reported it as stolen to AT&T. They probably won't be able to find your phone, but at least it prevents it from being used.

Well see the thing is i Pwnd it to use it on my T-Mobile account. Altough i did call tmobile so they could disconnect the number, they wont replace it because it was not a tmobile phone and their was no insurance. I looked everywhere for it, car friends car, friends house, parking lot, house, bedroom, dog's house...nothing

a lot of the time if someone finds the phone (in the uk at least) they will return it to the owner, because the IMEI will be blocked frm all uk networks, making the phone somewhat worthless. hopefully you get a spot of luck and someone returns it so you can salvage your contacts...

Yeah you are lucky, here in the US, you find something like that it's yours. Oh well, my lose someone else's gain unless it fell in a gutter.

Yeah, unfortunately it went straight to voice mail (i did leave a mean one haha)

they're really cracking down on phone thefts here, even if you find it and keep it, you can get up to a 3 year prison sentence.

i think you should always insure high value purchases...maybe find a seperate insurance company? my accomodation insurance covers my laptop, and if i want i can pay a little more and they cover my phone too....

Do you know if your "Home owners/renters" insurance would cover the loss ?????

Might be a place to start

Sorry to hear that you lost the phone. I'd be bummed if I did the same.

    Hope it turns up !!!!

Yeah, that's good that they are taking action against mobile theft, because it's kind of a big problem. Their was an article in a the Herald Tribune where they left 42 Blackberries around the world in different cities to see how many honest people would turn in the iPhone. I know in new york it was something like 22/30 people would return (surprised me!!) in beijing it was like 13/30 lol. Anyways, hopefully if this good soul finds he will post an add somewhere on craigslist or something.

About the homeowner's insurance, i will pass on that ;) too much hassle, but i might ask to see what the answer is you never know.

ps: i dont know how to multiquote lol :D

To multi-quote, click the "Multi-quote" button on the first post you want to quote, then keep doing it for each other post you want to quote. When you reach the last post you want to quote, instead of hitting "multi-quote" click Quote.

Tada :D You'll get used to it in time :)

There should be a phone beacon app for the iPhone.

    LOL! :D

    That would be cool.

I ordered a T-Mobile Dash, got it for $50 dollars, decent buy i think, email, internet, wifi. Somewhat like my iPhone :p

I searched my house, but did not find it. It's like those creepy kidnappings, the more it goes missing for the less chance you will find it...
    :(
