I'm getting a "service battery" warning on my 2008 15" MBP and its only holding like a 75% charge. I'm about to go back to school so I'm looking into replacing the battery. Replacement batteries are sold by apple for $130 + tax and this seems a bit steep. I'm sure there has to be cheaper alternatives. Anyone have experience using 3rd party batteries? I can also get an Apple battery for $108 from Amazon but can I go cheaper?

At my local fry's they sell third party batteries, but they are still around $100 or so. Your best bet is probably ebay/amazon; they run around $40-60 iirc. I would still recommend a first party battery though.
