Okay i don't want to register for another website but i thought you guys could answer my question, Ipod Touch 2nd gen 8gb or Ipod Touch (1st gen) 16gb? How much is there a difference, i can get them both for the same price and i like the 16gb size, my ipod right now (orignal, the brick one) is 10gb and i have some of my music on there, but which should i get?

I would go for the 16 GB personally...
Having more space is always nice. :)
Also, if you're looking at it as mainly a music player (which most people are or should be) then you won't find a real difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen.
    Just my $0.02...

yeah i'm mainly just looking for music/video, i have a laptop for internet and such, but the apps are a cool feature too.

Can somone give me the differences between the two? Right now i'm just guessing the the 3G has better internet and is built flimsier (metal interferes with the wifi signal)

You mean an iPhone 3G and an iPod Touch 2nd gen? The iPhone is a phone, so if you are looking to make phone calls or have a data plan with a carrier, then the iPhone is the way to go. If you just want to listen to music, then get the iPod.

Personally I think you never need more than 2-4GB of music on you at once. You can just change the playist out once a month, making minor changes to it weekly. Thats what I do. (I have about 17GB of music)

If your looking to buy a touch, just jump up to the 16gb it's always worth that little bit more.... not really that much price difference, no?

what i'm looking at the 8gb (2nd gen) is $199.99 and the 16gb (1st gen) is $219.99 so i like to put movies and music on there (my dad has 30gb of music, i have 13gb so have a lot to pick from) and movies so the 16gb looks better and i just wanted to know how much BETTER the 2nd gen is? What is the difference? Is it worth getting the 8gb 2nd gen over the 16gb 1st gen? I'm going to buy one of them today so i would like to know soon :D

i guess the major differences are:
    - speaker on the 2nd gen. the 1st gen lacks it.
    - different body : not that much of a difference.
    - i read somewhere that there was a difference in SQ. not much, though

i can't think of any other difference.
maybe someone else can add to it.

In addition to the speaker, the iPod Touch second gen has a faster CPU, and therefore runs apps noticeably faster than the 1st gen. It also has volume buttons at the side of the device, and is thinner than the 1st gen around the edges. It also appears that the 2nd gen has bluetooth, which will be activated with the release of iPhone OS 3.0.

It is up to you whether you think these improvements are worth trading off 8GB of storage.

The difference I believe is between a 412Mhz ARM CPU and a 533Mhz one. A frequency increase of around 25%.
