Hey guys, I'm looking for an external TV-Tuner for my Macbook Pro, preferably on USB (I don't know any on FireWire 800).

The only gripe I have is that it must have Composite Video and Audio inputs, like this one:

    http://www.unityelectronics.com/product-product_id/4447/m/Plextor/p/PX_TV100U_NA_OEM

And it must work on OS X. The product above specifies only Windows, I have sent an email to the customer service on the website to see if it works on OS X, but until I receive an answer from them I thought I'd ask here.

    Any ideas?

    Much appreciated! :D

I have a Hauppage HVR-950, which works with the mac. Though I had to buy a seperate cable from them to get a cable that lets you plug in composite video (and svideo). For software, i think elgato eyetv is one of the better programs. Not sure if theres a free program out there that lets you see in input from a usb tuner.

Elgato also sells their own branded tv tuners, which are pretty much the same thing.

Though these seem like a lot more then that product you listed. but they comes with the software license, which i dont know how you would view video on OSX any other way.

You could try getting the one you linked to, and seeing if it works with the a trial of elgatos eyetv. Mine originally wasnt listed anywhere as being compatible(had it from my pc days), but it still worked fine. So youres might work too.
