    Hello fellow Mac_users,

I,m a successful switcher (wii!!). But there are still some programs in Tiger, that i can't just get used to(mostly because of awkward and limited functionality).

One of those programs is Finder(Mac OS X file browser). I,m currently looking for an alternative, so far i found PathFinder 4 ( http://www.cocoatech.com/pf4/) and Forklift( http://www.binarynights.com/index.html). I know, I know they are both commercial, but they just seem to give me what I need most(two-pane,tabs,sync, good integration(namely with growl, which is my 2ed favorite on macosx right after quicksilver).

I will certainly try both on trial, but still I would like you to share your expiriences and recommendations, any open-source or other license alternatives are welcome as well. I think this post potentially can be kinda popular, because so many switchers have problems with Finder.

Well, since the free trials for those are 21 days and 15 days respectively, they'll last you nearly until October, at which time Leopard should be coming out soon. Spend the next two months trying out the trial versions of all the file managers as well as the free ones and then just use Leopard.

Leopard is supposed to have many improvements to Finder, so it might be all you need. That will give the 3rd party file managers time to upgrade their versions for Leopard, so you can try out their new features as well if you like before making a final decision.
