    Hey guys,

I'm in the recreational music production field and have suffered from losing my producing computer (got stolen from my room). The program I use for producing music is Logic Pro Studio which can only be used with Macs so I really need to find another Mac that I can use. Now, I'm normally a PC guy but as far as actually music production, I need a Mac. I ran a pretty up-to-date Mac mini that I actually found on Craigslist. It was a great buy because it was from a company that had recently upgraded their computers and were trying to get rid of their old ones and I got it very cheap.

Anyone know of any place that is doing this type of thing? I'm also a college student paying my own way so I do not have a lot of excess money. Due to this, the products found on eBay are way out of my price range.

Even of there is not a company doing something like this, can anyone help me with what to get? I'm obviously looking to pay the least amount possible but still getting a system that can run Logic without any issues. If a desktop is best, I already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse so the only thing I would need is the actual tower of the computer.

I would really like some help because the way I make most of my money is by playing shows and the best way to get booked is to keep having new stuff to play.

    Thanks guys.

I don't think there are a lot of companies out there that deploy Apple computers, so if you're looking for an out-of-lease Mac you should try calling that same company you mentioned and see if they're having another give-away like that.

Otherwise, your cheapest options seems to be hitting some Hackintosh forums and building your own desktop on the cheap. Cheapest Mac I've seen is the last-gen Mini on Amazon, going for about $450.

if your not doing anything too heavy a hackintosh based off an old C2D Latitude D620 works excellent. j6st swap the intel wifi for a broadcom.

    cost should be under $225
