Heres a great question for anyone who knows alot about the technical aspects of macbooks. I bought a black macbook this summer and every night when I'm in bed trying to do work I can barely see which keys is which. Obviously this wouldn't be a cheap fix but is there a way or is it possible to install the new light up keys of the new macbooks onto a pre-remodel macbook?

No. Buy some glow in the dark paint and paint the keys :)

+1 for the USB light. I really don't think they take much energy, so you'll be ok.

I bought a USB light when I had my Black MacBook and although it worked......it was less than desirable and also why I can't stress enough to people to buy the model with backlit keyboard.

That really doesn't solve the OP's problem, nor answer his question.

It does solve his problem, if he learns how to touch type. It doesn't, however, answer the question he originally had.

Don't work in the dark... its bad for your eyes.(When we all start giving you hopeless comments like this one, it generally means that a viable solution has already been given)

I think you should buy a projector and project somewhat in a 90 degree angle to reflect off the keys in a non-annoying way. lol :p , but seriously though nope your not going to be able to do it. The way the new MacBook was designed the lights are properly structured onto the bottom. I suggest you take a book light and attach it the top. (Your probably not going to do any of these lol, but heck someone might :p )
