Just got Leopard and iLife 08 last night (Christmas came early), and I found the best feature that has not been talked about! I use an external keyboard that is made for Windows, so naturally I have to change the modifier keys (make alt cmd and windows option). Before I used MarcoPolo with a script that changed the keys for me. It worked pretty well, but was still a pain and not always reliable. Now in Leopard, you can set the modifier keys based on keyboard! So whenever my Logitech is plugged in, it automatically has swapped modifier keys! The best part is that it does not effect the MBP keyboard at all!

So anyone who uses a Windows keyboard and wants to change the modifier keys, now there is an easy way to do it for every keyboard individually.

My favorite feature that's never talked about in OSX (not necessarily just Leopard) is the ability to scroll in windows and sub-windows without bringing focus to it.

For example, if I have multiple windows open, with focus on the top one, I can still scroll the other windows and the contents in them by moving my cursor over and moving the mouse wheel without actually clicking on it and hence losing focus on my main window.

This ends up being invaluable when working with multiple office apps, spreadsheets, databases and Finder windows open at the same time.

Another implication of this of course, is also that 99% of OSX applications CAN be scrolled using the mouse-wheel. For some odd reason, this isn't true in Windows - not even within the OS itself.

In the 3 days I have owned it, I find I use Spaces the most. Its like having 4 different desktops in one.

its a toss up between my 2x2 spaces, and my dock stacks, love em both.

sure there's room for improvement, but i think we can say more than that about MS stuff :)

I have never once used Spaces! Never had the need, either. Funny how that works! Everyone likes different things. :D

I use Spaces just because sometimes it does make things less cluttered - but I'm fairly certain my overall productivity has decreased due to it. I always turn it off when I need to do something important since it gets in the way otherwise.

Likely true. I use my external 24" 1920x1200 display for the most part, so I have a lot of real estate. Wish my MBP was higher res than 1440x900. Such an odd res. WISH it was 1680x1050.

that alone made me pass on the MBP this time. i had a 2.16 c2d, and the res just drove me nuts for the price tag

Ever since my ram upgrade I have developed a tendency to open a ton of applications and leave them on. I find it convenient to put all uncessary apps in one space, and all of my work/school stuff on one space.

However, if I did have a high resolution external display for it I would not use spaces at all.

I have an external monitor that I use in tandem with the MBP at home, so I have yet to try out Spaces. Maybe when school starts back up it will be worthwhile.

I am ALWAYS using spaces. I came from linux, and using tiger my #1 most-missed feature was having multiple desktops integrated with the OS. now with spaces I can have it (the third-party programs for tiger didn't work well for me). even when I plug in my 20" 1680x1050 LCD into my mbp I have spaces running.
