It'll be able to run it smooth as butter. The Macbook Pro is set to handle many, many OS updates to come... maybe all the way up to OS XI.

Your safe to buy now, you won't see any changes in it between now and then.

Of course it will run it well. Even the G4's will be able to I'm sure.

Definitely. I've seen Tiger (10.4) running on an ancient G3 Powermac... albeit a little sluggishly.

I think with Vista running so badly on older computers, I think most people are getting paranoid about Leopard.

So this is Vista's legacy? Make everyone worry about buying a computer before a new OS comes out? Leopard will run great on any late model Apple, including most all of the G4's and Intel machines.

Yes. Apple's OS releases are very good at running on really old outdated hardware. Your MacBook will run it with no problems.

OS XI just doesn't sound as cool as OS X :p

They need to just add a few more digits after the 10 for future revisions so they can keep it '"OS X".

Somehow, I don't think "OS XXX" would be the kind of hit Apple wants... ;)

The Macbook and Macbook Pro's will be fine.

BUT, i have a copy of the WWDC07 version of Leopard, and i must say the new graphical animations run like poo-poo on my Powerbook G4 1.3Ghz. its got a 64MB ati 9600. the visuals arent even all that wild, i figure it would be able to handle it for sure.
Hopefully its because its beta still, but if it stays that way in the final version, there will be some not so happy campers out there.

Other than that, the actual os run great, its as fast as tiger is. its not a HUGE leap forward, but the improvements they have added, are VERY nice.

Time Machine. Core animation. Stacks seems cool. Hopefully the Finder works as well as it looks. It will be worth the upgrade I believe.
