Adium seems to be lagging whenever I type something.

And now as I'm typing this, even this is lagging. Letters are showing up in chunks, instead of smoothly appearing letter by letter as they used to.

Not really sure what caused it. I downloaded the 3 updates for Safari, iTunes, and Quicktime last night, but I only installed them a couple minutes ago. The problem started before I installed those, and continues even after I installed them, so I don't think it's that.

I just restarted my iMac as well, so I'm not sure what else there is to do. Specs are in the sig.

I was thinking that I might be out of RAM or something, but here are the stats according to iStat Pro:

    Wired: 124mb
    Active: 336mb
    Inactive: 48mb
    Free: 476mb
    Swap: 0/64mb
    Page Ins: 28,959
    Page Outs: 0

All I'm running now is Adium, Safari (just one tab), and iTunes. It looks like my memory's fine, so I have no idea why my typing is all laggy.

I'm experiencing the same issues. Probably a bug caused by the latest update, 1.2.4. Just wait for the next update, and it should be fixed.

From experience Adium sometimes needs a springclean. Try using Cleanapp available here to remove the whole proram and any interlinking and interdepenant libraries associated with it.

    http://www.synium.de/products/index.html

Please be fully aware BEFORE running cleanapp that you will lose chat history and everything associated with Adium and will have to be re-installed (plugins, themes, account setup etc) but I honestly find it a great way to keep the programs on my MBP from tripping each other up after numerous updates, especially if your like me and continously pummell Adium with new addons.
