    L3 Cache or G5 - which will come first?

    Okay...I know that it's unlikely that Apple will revise the current G4 books between now and the G5 release, but I'd really like L3 cache! What would also be nice is a better graphics solution for the 12". If they offered a backlit keyboard, ati 9700 (128 or 64), and L3 cache...I would have me a new powerbook right quick!

    L3 cache is actually not such a great idea in a laptop since it resides on its own chip separate from the cpu. As such, it requires additional power, and as seen in the TiBooks with L3 cache, when running on battery power, the L3 cache by default is disabled to preserve battery power.
