For those that dont know KisMAC is is a wireless network discovery tool for the mac. Similar to Kismet for *inux and alot better then Netstumbler for Windows.

It is now no longer under development because the German goverment passed a new law makeing such programs illeagal since they can be used for hacking password protected wifi networks (WEP hack). KisMAC was being developed in Germany and the developers didnt want to risk lawsuits or jail time. Hopefully someone outside Germany will pick up their work since its a very good program.

Well there goes everyone's hope of it supporting Airport extreme. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else picked up the project though.

This German law is plainly... stupid. Things such as nmap may be outlawed. It is akin to saying that hammers should be outlawed since you can knock someone in the head with it, or break a window and enter a house or a car. Hope everyone - not only the FOSS community, but everyone that uses computers - fight against this kind of thing, because in the end it will affect everyone. This trend of restricting people's freedoms is becoming increasingly common in the Western world - I'd cite that law that requires you to get a permit to shoot or even deal with photographic equipment in NY. Sad times we are living, these are.

There is a beta copy out which does support airport extreme. Google to find it.

You can still access the svn to get the latest source code. Once you compile it, it works on airport extreme.

Technically it works. Depends what you want to use it for I guess. iStumbler is a good alternative if you use it to search for wireless signals.
