I have to prepare a presentation for Monday and I was wondering what would be better in preparing a business presentation.

One of my main concerns in using Keynote '08 is if it is compatible with Windows. If I have to prepare a presentation in Keynote '08, and have to give it to my boss who uses Windows, what issues will there be?

And also, if I use Microsoft Powerpoint for Mac, there will be no issues when transferring to a PC laptop with Office 2003 right? The compatibility thing will take care of this I am assuming.

    Thanks

powerpoint mac works perfectly with powerpoint 2003 on windows.

if you decide to use keynote, i would recommend bringing the hardware required to run keynote.

if you export a keynote project as a powerpoint file (for windows use) some of the animations and such won't be the same / won't work correctly. the content should come across unharmed.

still, i would consider using powerpoint if you need a working powerpoint project (for your boss) or keynote if you want to just do the presentation and you can physically bring in your macbook / pro to run keynote.

Well, you can turn a Keynote presentation into a Quicktime movie and work it like a Powerpoint presentation (you have to click the mouse to move to the next slide or action, just like a Powerpoint presentation, but in Quicktime). You won't be able to edit it after you turn it into a Quicktime movie, but at least you can present the Keynote presentation on the PC as it looked on your Mac.

I've heard sometimes fonts are changed from Office for Mac to Office for PC. I can't confirm this though.

I recommend against exporting keynote presentations to powerpoint. If you are going to be presenting with windows, then export to quicktime. It works much better.

Incidentally, I wonder why Microsoft changed from the perfectly fine Times New Roman font to the san serif Calibri in Office 2007 as the default :p
