Will the Macbook Pros have this issue --> Shiny weardown of keyboard keys and trackpad? (Aluminum unibody)

I know the Black old plastic Macbooks had this issue and the white ones to a certain extent.

I can't see the glass trackpad having that kind of problem.

As stated earlier, everything can wear out overtime. I recommend just wiping it down every few days or sooner if you have greasy fingers.

Apple purports that it is actually etched bare glass on the top surface, the capacitance grid layer is sub-surface. What is there to wear off that it would change texture? Indeed the iPhone and Touch have olephobic coatings to help make the screen less fingerprint prone.

Yea, the KB might show signs of normal wear after a while, but not the trackpad.

I've had my Unibody MacBook for coming up on 2 years and while the keyboard does show signs of wear, the trackpad shows NONE!

Ive had my MBP for 1.5 years and the trackpad still looks new. The keyboard does show a little shine, but not enough to make it look disgusting.

Overall I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure you wash your hands after eating chips or finger foods.
