I have a new macbook pro and every time i press the shift, control, alt, command keys it sounds like someone just chewed on something crunchy. And it also holds the key if i press it twice. How can i remove this feature. I work with maya and use alt key all the time. This is getting really annoying.

eat potato chips over your keyboard? might try cleaning out he keys, but it shouldn't do that.

i think you already found someone who knows exactly what your problem is.

often this happens if someone spills some type of sugar based soda/cola and it dries up under a few keys.. its crunchy and sticky.

jesus... i think i dint make my point. I don't mean like the keys actually sound that way on the keyboard. This is a system thing. The sound comes out of the speakers, and its done purposely. It is a dound effect of snow leopard when i press those keys.

it sounds like you were talking about a physical keyboard issue... I don't think any of us realized anything different.
Go in System Preferences under Universal Access... in the keyboard tab turn off Sticky Keys... and disable letting someone push shift 5 times to turn it on. -
HAHAHAH! Thank you so much! I just didn't know how to explain it well. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
