Hi there. I did a quick search and found a thread related to my issue but no solution. I just received my new Mackbook Pro (2.53ghz late 2008 - aluminum). When running under Mac OS the keyboard back light turns off just fine when I want it to (pushing F5). When I boot up into Windows the keyboard's back light stays off until the bootcamp control panel is loaded. So as soon as it pops in the tray near the time the keyboard back light goes from 'off' to the lowest dim setting. Pushing F5 shows that's the light is already off, which it isn't.

It's not that big of an issue but if I don't need the keyboard light on, it shouldn't be on. I'm in a well-lit room with my blinds open so it's not dark. I'm running bootcamp version 2.1. The light that's always on in XP is equivalent to the first white bar when you turn the light on in Mac OS. Any help is appreciated.

On the Apple forum, someone suggested using Lab Tick. Great program for the Mac OS, but unfortunately it does not solve the problem under Windows XP.

    Thanks!

Thanks for this info. I'm getting the Macbook and I'll run XP a lot.
