I checked software update yesterday and found the "Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0" I clicked to install and I'm pretty sure that it went through and installed but then the Software Update screen showed up again with a green check next to that update and the "Install 1 item" button so I clicked it again because I thought it hadn't installed. Once again, I think that it installed it but I was sent back to that same update screen.. so I turned off the computer. Today I checked again for updates and that "Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0" is still showing up as an update

    I'm using a Macbook Pro

If it says "installed", then it's installed... just close the Updater.

If it installed, then an application would immediately load for you to install the firmware update. If that didnt happen, then "the fix isnt in"

Mine did the same thing. For some reason I needed to install in twice. No big deal though.

exactly. another screen should pop up to tell you that the keyboard will be unresponsive when you are installing. you click ok, type in password, and it should update the firmware.

    it did not fix mine.
Still, when I click a new field with my mouse, the type.
About 30% of the time first letter typed doesn't show.
I downloaded this firmware and installed. And no fixy.

what an odd little bug, it seems to be affecting quite a few machines, definitely not a majority, but I really wonder if this must be a logic board issue?

for many the firmware updates have worked well, for others not at all, very odd indeed.

I haven't had any problems like this at all, but if I did I would be all over Apple about it.
