The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Do you think its possible to install KUBUNTU 8.1 on a powerpc ibook or emac. I got 2 of them hanging around.....not so great on running tiger or leopard so i thought linux might help.... :eek:

    Forget UBuntu dude they got lack of drivers.

    Try Mandriva One you will love it. <-- the best Linux Distro ever.

    You will need to install a distribution of Linux that is compatible with the PowerPC architecture. Ubuntu has officially dropped support for PowerPC, but there are some ports that might work ( http://penguinppc.org/).
