I am loving every bit of this laptop so far except one issue...

I just got this laptop yesterday, used it till 5% battery and then charged it overnight and today started using on battery power. I am using wifi, brightness at middle with jus surfing, office. It says that I have 3:30 battery life remaining and it fluctuates to 2:49 then 5:01...never above 5:00

Did I miss something during the set-up? What kind of calibration techniques do you guys suggest? I don't know if this is normal.

    Thanks

you should follow the directions Apple says to calibrate the battery if you want the battery running the best...

thats called using it from a full charge until its so low it forces itself to hibernate.. then leave it hibernating for several hours... then plugging it in and letting it charge up full. Full directions are on Apples website. Apple Portables: Calibrating your computer's battery for best performance

what you are actively doing at the moment can change widely what the estimates are.. but the estimates are still just an estimate.

If the websites you visit have Flash on them it will put a strain on your battery until you leave that site. Vaio boy will you ever change your misleading forum name? :D
