Congrats tyronne! I don't believe Apple will implement Blu Ray, other than maybe a burner option on the Mac Pro for those in the production business. If they were going to go with Blu Ray, I would say they would've been there early, they've never been afraid of jumping at new technology.

Hey folks my wife does a lot of multimedia work at home because of this she requires a terabyte hard drive to replace the one in our iMac.

I just installed 4 gig of ram to the iMac but golly good god it looked really impossible to put a new hard drive in. Has anyone done it? do you have tips? What should i do? thanks folks.

Get a job on oil rigs bro or work on mine sites they pay you huge money. You could afford a lot of things in life if you work in these field.

The crappiest job on oil rigs (Roustabout) pays roughly around $5000 per week before tax the upside is you'll only work 6 months per year for example 3 weeks on 3 weeks off.

If you want the best and most dangerous job in the world that pays roughly around $30,000 to $60,000 per trip (3 weeks work only)? Go fishing at the north seas in Canada - they pay huge money but it is very deadly and dangerous because of extreme weather and very very rough sea.

    Good luck.

I've always found it strange that apple was one of the early backers and even on the Blu-ray board yet they still to this day they haven't released any BD product.

Which is why I don't believe they will push Blu Ray. If they wanted to, I'd believe they would have gone in from the start.

I may get an iMac someday. I could sell my primary pc but i need windows to play games. Especially steam games. I know i could use boot camp and stuff but the videocard would need to be upgraded and I could not do that with an iMac.

If only Apple would release an upgradable iMac... something like the Mac Pro, but without the premium Xeon processors and FB memory sticks, and something in a smaller case than the Mac Pro.

Don't forget that Steve Jobs had bought Pixar, sold it back to Disney, and is now the majority stock holder in Disney-Pixar. This gives him a significant interest in utilizing his resources (Apple Inc.) to bring Blu-Ray and Disney content to the forefront of high definition media. I'm sure we'll be seeing Blu-Ray in the upcoming computer refreshes.

Yes, you'll see Disney was the first to get behind iTunes Movies, and I'm sure Steve Jobs' position there helped. But again, I don't believe Apple will push Blu Ray much on its lineup, rather banking on its iTunes online movie store to deliver HD.

The reason why we hasitated to buy mac for so long is because their hardware are out dated and have not caught up with technology.

We want blu ray so bad.

To be honest, i think in the future people will just download these high quality videos online from iTunes store and other sources. It seems like the way of the future, with tvs having networking ability to connect to computers and play these videos or some sort of hardrive server type thing.

unfortunately in Australia people get ripped off by Big pond. We pay over $150 per month for ADSL2 20 Megabit that we will never get to use. The best speed we could get is 3 megabit.

We also have download limits of 12 Gigs. There is no way on the our connection we could get HD videos online.

Their excuse is we live at the beach in Cottesloe and too far away from their exchange station or something along that line.

Well i think in years to come stuff like this may change, it's hard to say. It's just a trend that a lot more stuff is being done online and stored online rather than done in person with concrete items.

If implemented correctly, stuff like this could save people tonnes of money and time.
