i just plugged it in and everything worked.. i never spent a lot of itme trying to set it up... I also do not think I've even tried to use it since leopard thinking back on it, was still with Tiger.... I don't play many things that need a joystick...

the only thing i have installed to do a quick test on is some old DOS games like Wing Commander running through DOSbox.... and i just plugged in the joystick, have DOSbox set for auto detect on that, and it worked fine in the few games I tried... I dont have a current version of xplane, or have it installed on anything to test its functionality with that specifically, but I do know i used this same joystick in Tiger on Xplane on my old MBP.... a set up like your looking at *should* work... but I can't know without actually having one to test with.

Hi, I'm new on this site but saw your forum on Joysticks and MAC's... have you ben able to confirm whether or not any joysticks work correctly on a MAC with OS 10.5 or higher ? If so, which Joysticks ? Specifically for XPLANE gaming ? Also, do you know of any smaller, more mobile Joysticks to be used with XPLANE and a MACBOOK PRO on the road ??
    Thanks
    Frank

I had a silly answer here about Apple purposely breaking all gamepad support in 10.5 to force people to stop having fun and get back to work, but meh, forget that.

USB gamepads are just input devices. They advertise their capabilities to the OS and the OS just runs with it. If you are concerned, simply review the joystick you are thinking of getting and check their compatibility. I wouldn't anticipate much trouble.
