This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi guys,

    I'm upgrading to the new Retina Macbook and when I try to transfer my data from the old macbook to the new one, the restore from time machine is incomplete every time.

    My old laptop has 185gbs worth of data but on my new laptop it only shows 180gbs. Where has the 5GB gone?

    Any reason for this discrepancy?
