Yeah, it is the model with an expresscard slot and removable battery. But it has apparently got a less bright screen, less battery life, and no SD card slot.

Are you looking at the one going for £1050 on the refurb store? Because I was looking at that one as well, and it does seem like a very good deal ;)

I bet the older 2.5Ghz 15" MBP will be worth more down the road than the newest.

I never heard anything about a screen that isn't as bright as the current gen UMBPs. Has anyone else heard of this problem?
I was planning on ordering the one from the refurb store in a week or two because its much cheaper and the 3-3.5 hr battery life is fine with me. And I can get an expresscard slot card reader that reads more than SD. Is the expresscard slot on the UMBP same as the one on the previous macbook pro?

I thought that was only for the unibody macbooks, not the unibody macbook pros.

that is the Macbook Pro 15" Unibody (late 2008) machine... its barely different than the latest version out, its a very nice machine if you can save a lot on it.. if its gonna cost close to the same as the current ones, I'd buy one of the current ones.

The new 2009 version has nearly 8 hours battery life , compared to the late 2008 versions 4.5hrs , that's one big difference.

But will the base new MBP-15inch have 9600m card? ... no. Is it worth it? Somebody may say yes, but somebody need more battery life. Depend on the user.
I dont see an 8 hours improvement is a big deal to me.

I don't think much of Kate Beckinsale, but in that avatar, she looks very pretty. :)
