    this is not Penryn.
    model number for Penryn 2.4 GHz MBP: MB133LL/A.

    hard drive size should also tip you off.

    Is the HD on the MBP secluded from the rest of the computer or is it built in? I swear some are detatched but I wasn't sure. This would be a major disappointment if it is.

    Also remember that the non-penryn macbooks do NOT have multi-touch touchpads. Don't know if its a big deal for you, but its a deal breaker for me.

    The HD on the MBP is NOT "built in", its a user replaceable unit, the procedure however will void the warranty. Its not as easy as other laptops.

    yeah the touchpad is pretty cool. for 1800 I'd go 1999 and get a penryn new.
