Based on Google searches over the past week, no.

I even bought this cute Razer mouse hoping their drivers would disable mouse acceleration. Logitech drivers are useless, by the way. Never install them.

The Razer drivers even have a box for 'acceleration', but it appears to toggle between 'less acceleration' and 'a lot more accleration'. I submitted a spport ticket with Razer, but do any of you have a suggestion? For the record, I've tried Steermouse, USB Overdrive. Neither completely disables mouse acceleration, regardless of what their options imply. After a lot of testing, there still exists a noticeable amount of mouse acceleration no matter what drivers/programs I use.

Theres nothing to be 'fixed' with the mouse acceleration in osx.

OSX and windows have different mouse accelerations, and thats it. They are different.

I never noticed anything wrong with it, coming form many years of windows, but maybe other people who have the same complaint came across an answer. I know its an issue that a lot of people dont like though.

This is a shame. I always turn off acceleration.

I want zero mouse acceleration. This is possible in all versions of Windows. I was wondering if it was possible to completely disable mouse acceleration in OS X. This makes playing certain games a lot easier, not to mention that it feels better for me for normal usage as well.

Edit: Also, anyone play CnC3 on Mac? You can't formation move because you can't hold down left & right-click at the same time. Wow.

Try Steermouse, its working nicely for me. You will have to experiment with the settings a bit before you find something you like.

Just adapt, if you can't, you have bigger problems to deal with.

I can't imagine it would take someone more than 1 week to adapt to it even if they are a hardcore Windows user.

I've had this MBP since October 2007. I've yet to find a solution. I bought this mouse specifically for drivers that would disable mouse acceleration. Apparently the drivers broke after 10.5.4, so I don't know.

This isn't about getting used to mouse acceleration. I turn it off in Windows and I want to turn it off in OS X. I don't see how just because some of you are fine with OS X's mouse acceleration, then everyone should be.

And what do you mean, " have bigger problems to deal with"? This is my problem, nothing else.

Yeah, some of the responses in this thread have gotten a bit condescending. I too would love to see an option to turn off mouse acceleration. I'm not sure what it accomplishes by minimizing someone's preference.

Looking for an optional setting is one thing. Looking for a "fix" is quite another. The whole point here is that there is no issue with mouse acceleration that requires fixing. It works, just like it is supposed to. That being said, looking for an optional setting is quite welcome, and has been suggested already in the thread.

    Condescension goes both ways.

Zero mouse acceleration is good for FPS games. But gaming on a Mac? LOL.

Yeah I'll play my RTS's (Starcraft, Warcraft, CnC) on a Mac, what's wrong with that? I definitely have more control when there's no mouse acceleration.

And are people actually offended that I don't want OS X's mouse acceleration? I don't want any OS's mouse acceleration. I want none.

Guess what, in OS 9, there was such an "acceleration" setting that one could disable. They removed it for some reason.

Are you seriously suggesting that I am doing something wrong in trying to find a way to disable mouse acceleration?

I'm not trying to be condescending. I'm trying to state my inquiry more clearly, because some people are trying to tell me that my preferences are somehow invalid because OS X is fine the way it is. It's fine for you, I understand that, but don't patronize me and tell me to just "get over it".

How about I word it like this? I'm looking for an optional setting for mouse acceleration not provided by OS X. That is, I'm looking for the "disable mouse acceleration" option.

You say you play warcraft 3 on your mac? Does the mouse annoyingly hold click when you don't want it to? Or is that just me?

Might be your mouse. My old razer kept doing auto double clicks. Bought a new mouse and it was gone.

Ichigo, USB Overdrive is supposed to stop mouse acceleration on OSX. However, USB Overdrive is shareware and costs money. :(

Some things in OSX are cool but some things are really annoying like mouse acceleration.

I think the thing is, a lot of windows users come and complain about the mouse acceleration, and hows its "broken", and they cant live with it. I remember people returning macs, just because they couldnt learn to live with it (or adapt). So theres probably an edge on people because of that.

In all honesty, I dont notice it at all. I used windows for many many years, and when I moved to osx, I either noticed nothing, or i just adapted(?). Even now when I dual boot into windows, and use the same mouse I dont notice anything. Was mouse acceleration something new in Vista? maybe thats why I dont know anything about it(the bad sides of it)

Im also surprised that it cant be tweaked, usually there are little hacks you can do to change these types of things, but I guess not. There are annoying things in osx, that I dont understand how apple could not have changed, but I guess you learn to live with them, or without them.

But yea, its almost always a first complaint when people switch, they complain that its wrong and so forth. I think thats why people get touchy about it.

Most of the reason why mouse acceleration is considered bad on macs is for gaming reasons.

I really want to turn off mouse acceleration when I am playing CS source. It is annoying as hell and makes playing the game frustrating on my MBP.

There needs to be a fix for OS X because currently like the OP I have not been able to find a way to turn it off.

It's not about windows vs macs. Mouse acceleration is bad for some gamers.

Well Mac's aren't made for gaming, so they don't outfit it with for Mouse Acceleration options. That's what Alienware is for... :p. I really don't feel much of a difference, but to some people it really stands out. They might develop something to help the Mac Gamers out there. ;)

Sure macs are made for gaming. Just not hard core, brand new games. They aren't made to be primary gaming machines, but I'm sure Apple expects people will play games on them. Regardless, there should be an option to turn off mouse acceleration. It's a simple matter of preference that as end-users, we should be able to control.

Here is a simple script that disable mouse acceleration which I use everyday. I read about it long time ago, but don't remember where.
Take a look at the attachment. Hope you guys like it.

I would say that it's just a poor choice of words that people are using. We aren't complaining that the mouse acceleration is broken or anything. We just want the option to turn it off because we find it inaccurate (especially with high DPI mice).

The reason you probably don't notice it, is because mouse acceleration is turned on by default in Windows. Therefore it's likely that the average user won't notice any difference from switching.

Only moronic programmers at Apple think a mouse acceleration option is not necessary. You can even adjust mouse acceleration in Linux. OS 9 had an option to adjust mouse acceleration, but they dumped it in OS X. Apple is just retarded with OS X.

Just restart your mac or kill the process in activity monitor.
